Even when I think I'm being well-intentioned - even when I think I'm right in defending myself - even when...

Oh, to learn how to be silent.

You have been very honest in sharing, MTJ. And I appreciate it. Learning humility is one of the most difficult things in life. Because it requires "humbling" - and that can often be a painful experience!

You have chosen such apt Scripture - especially the words from James. I think he was a person who really had to learn a lesson in humility. He grew up with Jesus, and yet, for a time, did not believe in Him. It was only later, after the resurrection and an appearance by Jesus, that James realized how wrong he had been. It must have taken a lot to look at Jesus and say, "I'm sorry. I was wrong."

But look how God used him afterward!

So, I join you in asking God to work in my heart - and to give me humble ears to listen well, a wise mouth filled only with His truth, and a longsuffering attitude filled with His humble love.

GOD BLESS!Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00840994989201507494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785238503949165495.post-4005005290610582162010-12-11T23:24:08.072-05:002010-12-11T23:24:08.072-05:00Thank you so much for that great post, and for sha...Thank you so much for that great post, and for sharing God's truth. Thanks MTJ...I think...
Convicted on all accounts!

Your last post did honor God as does this one, as a way of transformation for us from the old to the new. A place of true humility and obedience.

I am guilty and this was perhaps meant from God to me through you;
for I am slow to listen... (thinking what I will be saying or lashing out instead of waiting and listening) quick tongue... in the recovery process of learning this,
for I am quick to speak (and write sometimes)...
for I am quick to anger
at least when I lived at home with the people that this matters most to...in public, I'm a bit better.
Maybe this is why I am sent away on this exile? (lol) to learn all God has been taking my entire lifetime to teach me...

I do NOT know why I am publicly confessing my major weaknesses here, but it seems to me that many who are reading this look at it as
a deep work in you, and I see this as a message for each of us, to examine ourselves to be in a better place, renewed, transformed and changed by what God is revealing to you and through you.

I notice some honest souls above,so does that mean that all the rest don't have a problem with this? well, shame on me then... this message is meant just for me. Thanks MTJ and you honest souls!

Father God, Thank You for revealing this lesson through MTJ that I must humble myself before You, change my ways, be quick to listen and really hear what's being said, be slow to speak to allow You to speak through me, which in the end result may help me be slow to anger. Anger against what's happened or said, anger from the past that roars its vicious head, anger that needs Your healing touch, anger that needs my forgiveness and to be forgiven, anger that has stopped me from being who You made me to be, anger with and at myself... diffuse this dynamite spark and stop it from being ignited more easily than the love I have for You and others; may that be triggered in place of any anger... may You see my weakness and help me change. Amen to MTJ's prayer and I echo each word in Jesus' Name, we pray...

Peace on earth, good will toward mankind... love and JOY in Christ,
PeggyPeggyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07178137619890142365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785238503949165495.post-92146685387451597852010-12-11T13:11:10.130-05:002010-12-11T13:11:10.130-05:00Thank you so much MTJ for this inspirational messa...Thank you so much MTJ for this inspirational message that everyone needs to hear and abide by.
