To me, it implies a craving, a consuming feeling, after something other than God.

And I loved your prayer at the end. I wonder why when they had been delivered from a life of bondage. Then I stop and think, I have been delivered from bondage through Jesus shed blood, yet I complain.

I like your words about hardships having a purpose - to bring us to a place of dependence upon the Lord. If we never had these hardships, we would tend to depend solely upon ourselves.

Blessings,
JoanJoan Hallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16430939897829160498noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785238503949165495.post-74644696552513517802011-03-11T20:32:47.316-05:002011-03-11T20:32:47.316-05:00Lust, the sin of more than desire or greed..so ugl...Lust, the sin of more than desire or greed..so ugly. I used the same scripture in Hebrew that you used this week, "Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire.” I love how God speaks through his people.Patti Hananhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04275696717600565061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5785238503949165495.post-84115713958083879072011-03-11T12:23:59.013-05:002011-03-11T12:23:59.013-05:00It is amazing how God talks to us. It's so easy to read their story and think how could they act that way. However, closer examination of myself, I see areas of similarity.
