Oh Nicole!

One of my blogger friends Nicole has tagged me with a MeMe. First, I have to acknowledge that Nicole has used her daughter Maddie as the basis for these questions (I have serious reservations). Secondly, please don't ask how I got tagged in a MeMe of young moms.

I don't blog on a daily basis so I don't know many bloggers; actually, Nicole is one of the few bloggers who contacts me. I admire her passion for Christ, her love for her husband Shane, their daughter Maddie, and the spirit of friendliness she extends. So, I've decided that I'll try my best to answer her eight questions, but I have to punt on the tagging:
  1. Do you like meatballs? Some of my best friends are meatballs.
  2. What is your favorite pizza? Since I have a low tolerance for lactose, I don't eat pizza. Although one weekend when I worked with IBM support staff to install hardware devices, they ordered pizza for lunch and I tried it without cheese. I got so much grief that afternoon that I just don't even look in the direction of pizzas anymore.
  3. What is your favorite store? Get it online.com
  4. What is your favorite book? Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, Another Country by James Baldwin, The Man Who Cried I Am by John A. Williams, and Native Son by Richard Wright are four books which I never tire of reading.
  5. Would you like to live in a tree? Only if it was cut into the shape of a 2500 square foot house.
  6. What is your favorite color? Any non-flammable or non-toxic masculine color.
  7. Do you like to dance and sing to music? I actually think I can sing so, without prompting, I've stood up in public places and sang to my wife. Even though my wife acts embarrassed, I truly believe she loves that I'm romantic and bold enough to do something like that in front of strangers. However, she will probably tell you that my vocal range is severely limited.
  8. Do you like making crafts? Is this like one of those Jeopardy trick questions? What is needlepoint? What is quilting?...clock's ticking....ah...ah...What are Fried Green Eggs, Ham and Tomatoes?...bzzzzzzz

MTJ - Very cute!! You made me chuckle, my friend!! It was fun seeing your very clever sense of humor!! So now I am picturing you in a 2500 square foot tree house, decorated in "masculine" (I'm guessing earth tones!), serenading your wife, while eating a soy-based cheese pizza, and trying to figure out if you have to make crafts in order to be crafty! Hmmm...

GOD BLESS! :)

Good morning my friend!! I'm surprised you actually did it!! lol I don't blame you for not doing the tagging.

You did very well on the questions too! She was so happy to help me out with them.

WOW, sorry about the pizza thing. How rude of them, but then again, that's just how you guys are most the time! lol

I'm gonna have to go check out those books now... love the tree answer. Number 7 is so sweet! and yes you are right, she might act embarrassed at the time but I know she truly loves it! That's just how we are, it's kind of embarrassing while you are doing it just because everyone is looking at you.
#8- LOL!!!

Big hugs to you and thank you so much for actually going through with it!! Have a great day, I needed that laugh this morning!!

(and thank you for the kind things you said about me I almost teared up, yeah I cry easy. (= )

Lol...enjoyed reading your answers, MTJ. Oh how sweet that you bravely serenade your wife. (I'm going to have to add that to my wish list) I'm so with you about the tree house. Have a blessed day!

MTJ - This post made me smile this morning as I read your answers. I too enjoy reading your blog because of your strong love for our Lord and Savior. Blessings my friend. Lloyd

Sharon: Will I ever be taken seriously again?

Nicole: See what an influence Maddie is on me?

Wanda: I like your description of bravely serenading instead of a publicly embarrassing moment.

Lloyd: I don't think I'm all that witty or funny but I'm glad that reading this made others smile this morning. I am serious about my relationship with Christ though because I've wasted too much time ignoring God. I'm thankful to have you and others who stand up as lights illuminating a love and passion for our Lord, Jesus Christ.

ohhh MTJ... many blessings and thanks for the precious answers to bring some laughter into our lives! Great sense of humor! My favorite #1,...ohhh each one was so genuine! I cannot add except to agree with Nicole & Lloyd that we love how your blog reflects your seeking heart for the Lord & your love for Him! Ohhh but once again we see the REAL world with their cruel pizza grief.

Very interesting to see this side of you! So glad I'm "tag free"! And contrary to popular opinion, I'm not a meatball. I loved Sharon's responses and Wanda's on your serenade...but what about the dance part??? ...bzzzz time's up!

Thanks MTJ! Now how did you end up with all these women followers & being tagged by young moms? So glad that you have loyal guy commenters.
(if that's not a word, what is the word?...I got the red correction line) commentators is not the same thing... lol, oh well.
Come see my photo for today... no need to comment or read at all... just wanted you to see how I live in peace...

Ron: It's pretty hard (even for me) to be serious when a three year old asks, "Would you like to live in a tree?" You've given me many days of thought-provoking topics to discuss and your brotherly smile always welcomes me.

Peggy: Yes, tagged by young moms indeed. Am I in danger of losing my Man card? Fortunately, the Lord is bringing me to the place of contentment and assurance that my masculine identity doesn't feel threatened; even when I get a comment referring to me as SISTER MTJ.

Honestly, I would welcome reading more blogs by men, I just haven't found many. Obviously, there aren't many who read my blog. Lynn Mosher (Heading Home) hooked me up with Billy Coffey. I'm really not sure why more women identify with my writing but I appreciate that what I write communicates. Growing up without a father, women (my mother, grandmother and now my wife) have always been a big influence in my life. I grew up in a household of brothers so in a way, the Lord has given me a host of spirit-filled sisters with a genuine passion for Christ. I'm inspired by so many who openly and joyously share their faith.

I am LOL'ing & LOVING this post from such a kind, dear, giving friend! I am SO with Sharon on this! Love her comment....priceless & SO on the money! I've missed you my friend. I've been going thru blog withdrawal b/c I've been too busy to get on. The shakes are kickin' in!

MTJ said...

Merana: Sharon makes me smile too! I hope it's a busy good. Those shakes can be terrible...I hear rattling all the way over here.

You are too funny!! Maybe I should have her come up with some more questions for you!?! lol

I love reading your blog because you write so well and you say how I feel but can never get it out right!

Have I told you lately I love ya man!?! =) (love the Lord and Shane more but I still love ya!)

MTJ said...

Nicole: Nooooo! I've already shattered my credibility. More questions would destroy any ahem remaining manly dignity.

Seriously, I am blessed when I read your blog. You open yourself up and share about yourself, and your life that, for me, is encouraging. I believe that's what Christ truly desires from all of us; just being who we are, passioniate, illuminating, followers of Christ.

I love you, Shane, and Maddie too Nicole. I'm thankful for your friendship and fellowship.

ah, come on! ;)

Thank you so much for the encouraging words.
I really don't know any other way to be. Some times I think I am too open but that is just how God made me! That is one thing that I have never managed to change! (guess He didn't want me too either!)

Love to you and your family! Have a great day!! I am so thankful for your friendship and fellowship too! =)
