God Hears Me

This has been a busy week for me, traveling and working at customer sites. I have found moments of quiet time to pray for family, friends, and those of you, I've been blessed to meet via this forum. This morning I decided to take a day off, and yet, I still found myself working from home (thank You Jesus for this Type-A personality). As I said, before firing my thrusters, I prayed and afterwards I found myself thinking of Psalm 116:1-2, which says:

I love the LORD, because He hears My voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.1

From the depths of where I am, God inclines His ear to hear my voice!

I love God because he listened to me, listened as I begged for mercy. He listened so intently as I laid out my case before him.2

Because He hears…

Because He listened…

God does something that is so incredibly appreciated; He hears me.

I need to remind myself that God is not:
  1. Someone who uses a caller ID-like feature to ignore me whenever I dial-up a prayer to Him.
  2. Someone who directs my prayers to voice mail.
  3. Someone who has His secretary screen my incoming prayers with a query, “What is the nature of this prayer?
  4. Someone who can’t fit me into His schedule.
I love the Lord, because He hears My voice…

Dear Jesus I Love you
You're a friend of mine
You supply my every need
My hungry soul you feed
I'm aware you are my source
From which all blessings flow
And with this thought in mind
I know just where, where to go
3

There is absolutely nothing that impedes God from hearing my prayer.

God hears me…it’s just that simple.

Oh yes, He never places us on "hold" while listening to someone else. He's always there, listening and desiring that fellowship with us.

Thankful that He hears and answers our prayers.

Blessings,
Joan

Hi MTJ, I love the imagery in this post. While technology allows us to be connected more than ever, it also allows us to be unavailable at our convenience. But it's wonderful to have a God that is on the main line all the time. No matter how many other others ringing.

Theres an art to listening and I don't know to many people who have it. I know that the Lord listens to me and I'm so thank-ful for him.
God Bless,

Is there anything more wonderful than this? The Almighty God of the universe LISTENS to ME!! We have direct access to His throne - and He has all the time in the world for us.

Simply awesome...

GOD BLESS!

Yes, yes, YES...EXACTLY! When it seems that I don't matter, when it feels like NOTHING I say, feel, or do makes any difference...it does to God. Even my most simple prayers are heard & answered (remembering in Daniel when it took the angel 21 days of fighting the dark forces to reach him). Hmmm, perhaps God makes it so nobody's available to listen when I need to talk ... so that instead I have no alternative than to talk to Him??? And, oh I don't know...perhaps I should have STARTED there???!!!! (remembering the phrase now: "seek the throne before you pick up the phone").

Great post, as always, MJ! Be blessed this coming week, dear friend! ~ Merana

We are the most blessed as His children that our Heavenly Father does not have selfish human qualities and He doesn't treat us like we treat one another. How short we fall of His great love. He has even given us the rest of our lives to practice His love here in this world. Praise His name.

Blessings MTJ... I'm so delighted in your BUSY but even more that GOD HEARS YOU and you know it.

So simple but so profound!

Once again, in this super technological world, we can be ever so grateful for Our God is still the same, never changes, reachable and available 24/7. He gives us the knowledge for all this advancement yet He listens to each one of us.
And you are sharing words to a song... WOO HOO! A song that is a beautiful prayer.

Thinking of you, praying for God's favor and grace to go with you and before you, directing your steps, blessing your socks off... for you and your family, friends and all Type A's. Stay in His Word and don't bother taking a number, wait patiently...(I still need to catch up on that one of yours)! Take care.

Peace and JOY,
Peggy

MTJ -

It's unfathomable to understand how God hears us personally when perhaps millions (I hope) are praying at that very moment.

But just like I believe that God is not confined by time or space and that God is so BIG that he can be anywhere at any time, it's also comforting to know that He can be small enough to hear our prayers at the very moment our petitions and requests are being offered.

I love this post! Great insight. God bless MTJ, have a great Sunday and a great week!

What a great post my friend! I am so glad that God hears me! I'm just the impatient one that thinks he doesn't because my prayers are not answered in my time. Reminds me also of
2 Peter 3:8
‘But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.’

I am also thankful that God has blessed you with a Type A personality and that He has given you this opportunity to be so busy. I know it is hard at times but He is doing wonderful things with you and for you!

Hope you had a great weekend my friend!

MTJ - I love these examples of how our flawed ways of communicating representing how we often view our prayer life. Yet God really does hear us, not just hearing but listening and enjoying it! Revelations calls our prayers incense. It isn't just a task to do because He commanded, it is an invitation to converse with the Almighty God. God bless :) - dunlizzie
